Critical Care Response Units

Critical care response units (CCRU) are comprised of a specially trained physician/paramedic team, responding to prehospital urban trauma by helicopter and rapid response vehicles. These teams can bring life saving interventions such as blood transfusion, thoracotomy, thoracostomy, and more directly to the patient to improve survival from trauma. Our goal is to assess the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of advanced prehospital interventions, delivered by a prehospital CCRU, in reducing prehospital deaths from trauma in Toronto.

Canadian Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium (CanROC)

The Canadian Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium (CanROC) brings the power of collaboration of all Canadian Resuscitation researchers and EMS agency partners with the goal of increasing survival from cardiac arrest. CanROC is now an ever expanding National Registry of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) including most provinces and soon hopefully more than 80% of all SCAs in Canada.
