
Brodie Nolan
MD MSc
Biography
Dr. Nolan is the Director of FIRST60. Clinically, he is an emergency physician and trauma team leader at St. Michael’s Hospital and a transport medicine physician for Ornge. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto and Scientist in the Li Ka Shing Institute at Unity Health Toronto. Dr. Nolan also Chairs the Research and Scholarly Activities Committee at Ornge.
Dr. Nolan completed a Master of Science in clinical epidemiology and health care research where he focused on identifying delays during interfacility transfer of injured patients transported by air ambulance.
Dr. Nolan’s research interests are in trauma, prehospital care, transfusion and patient safety. His work focuses on improving timely access to trauma care for injured patients in Ontario and the role of the provincial air ambulance system. He is the PI on the SWiFT Canada study, exploring the efficacy of whole blood in the Canadian prehospital environment.
