Melissa McGowan

Program Manager


Biography

Melissa has an extensive record of managing large, dynamic research programs and projects while fostering collaborative relationships. She has honed her project managements skills over the past 15 years leading National and International projects and programs across translational pediatric and adult medicine. This work has contributed to improved patient outcomes and experiences, while simultaneously afforded the opportunity to train, coach and mentor countless students, trainees, research staff and clinicians who have moved on through progressive positions, including some leading their own research programs. 

Melissa is a recognized strategic critical thinker, planner and logistician with flexibility to be nimble and adapt with contingency plans when needed with changing scope and/or resources.  

Melissa is inspired daily by creating bidirectional opportunities for growth and learning among students, trainees, research staff, clinical colleagues and patient partners. Her research interests are in resuscitation, trauma, prehospital care and systems.
