Biography

Vinyas is a 7^th year MD/PhD Candidate at the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine and Dalla Lana School of Public Health. He recently completed his PhD in Clinical Epidemiology at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation and previously studied Biomedical Computation at Queen’s University. His CIHR CGS-D funded doctoral research investigated how emerging digital technologies can support public health emergency response and promote resilient health systems. During his PhD, Vinyas was also a Postgraduate Affiliate at the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Graduate Fellow at the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society, and Learner Co-Lead at the Temerty Centre for AI Research and Education in Medicine (T-CAIREM).

At First60, Vinyas is leading a retrospective review of adherence to regional ROTEM standards in the care of trauma patients as well as supporting various projects related to the development and deployment of machine learning models in transfusion and trauma care broadly.
